Scope and Contents
This series contains papers, notes, correspondence, brochures, articles, bulletins, offprints,and presentations given by Goodwin. The presentations primarily document papers given to local New London organizations which Goodwin was member. This includes All Souls Church, the Unitarian Universalist Church that Goodwin was affiliated with for many years, and the Ariston Club, an exclusive New London society that fostered scholarly dialogue. These papers range over a variety of topics including overpopulation, local New London history, Goodwin's travels and explorations, and topics of morality and the mind. Goodwin's publication represent much of his published work from 1937 to 2003. This represents his scholarly work on experimental plant morphology, checklists, bulletins and guides produced for the Connecticut College Arboretum, as well as articles written for national organizations like the Nature Conservancy, popular magazines, and newspapers.
