The bulk of the series consists of articles written or co-written by Niering on topics including vegetation management, use of herbicides, and wetlands. It also includes book reviews and letters to the editor on a variety of topics. Also included is his work as part of various committee at a state and national level. This includes work with professional groups like the Nature Conservancy as well as work with government agencies.
