Scope and Contents

Series 1. Burnham Brook Preserve, 1956-2007

This series documents the creation, maintenance, and research of the Burnham Brook Preserve collected by Richard Goodwin. Materials in the collection record the slow accumulation of property, its history, and the management of the land. He and Esther, his wife, lived on the property until their deaths. Included are architectural drawings of the significant structures on their land: the two houses on the main property, which they referred to as Dolbia Hill Farm. Also included are extensive reports and research done on the flora and fauna of the preserve often done in conjunction with classes from Connecticut College.
