Scope and Contents

This series consists of articles and clippings primarily gathered by Linda Lear in writing Witness for Nature. These include articles written after 1965 that capture the public response to Rachel Carson and Silent Spring, articles on pesticides, and a variety of topics connected to Rachel Carson. Lear has continued to add to the Also included are the clippings from all over the United States collected and curated by Shirley Briggs in her work for the Rachel Carson Council. Originally kept in six binders, they include newspaper clippings, reports, brochures, offprints, and articles on Rachel Carson.
