Artist Book Collection
Scope and Contents
Artist Books, at its most basic definition, are works of art in the form of books or inspired by the idea of books. The Lear Center has a growing collection of Artist Books that are open for research and course instruction. The collection has been cataloged and can be browsed in the library catalog.
The Artist Book Collection houses historical documents that reflect the sensibilities of creators in historical times and may contain opinions, language, images, or other content that modern readers may find offensive. The Lear Center and Connecticut College do not endorse the attitudes expressed therein. The Lear Center presents these documents as part of the historical record and recognizes the imperative not to alter it.
