The New London redevelopment collection

 Collection
Identifier: MS-057

About the Collection

This collection includes documents such as reports and plans created for the city government to aid in redevelopment, similar documents sharing these plans with the public, and materials created by the government for the public to promote tourism, in addition to documents created by the community that document the area’s historic sites and the effort to preserve them. While some materials in this collection speak to Connecticut or the Southeastern region of the state as a whole, the majority of the materials are focused on the city of New London--specifically the downtown area. The creator and origin of this collection is unknown, though it clearly represents the assembly of different materials that show different facets of the urban redevelopment program in New London.
