Government: Midwest/West, 1963-1964 (binder 6), 1963
Scope and Contents
This series contains clippings, obituraries, brochures, phamplets, interviews, menus, reprints about Rachel Carson and her writings collected and organized by Shirley Briggs. The bulk of the materials are clipings dating from 1962 to1964 gathered from all over the country documenting the reaction and reception of Silent Spring. These were orginally organized into six binders by Briggs. Each binder had a topic and then was subdivided most often by the geogrophical location of the clippings but sometimes by sub-topic. The organization and number of the binder was retained in the folder description.
