Scope and Contents
This subseries documents the administrative materials of the national organization collected by Richard Goodwin. An extensive part of this series are minutes of the Board of Governors minutes and agendas from 1954 to 1966 (boxes 09 -11), which document the changes and programs of the Nature Conservancy at the national level. Also in this series are materials on committees like the Natural Areas Committees (boxes 11-12), Science Committee (box 11-12), and the Presidential Conservation Committee (boxes 15-16). This series also documents the functioning and history of the organization with substantial information on fundraising activities (boxes 13-14), easements managed by the TNC (box 14), the history of the Nature Conservancy (box 14), it’s planning and strategies for growth (box 15), and publications (box 16-17). Also captured is the response to the critical Washington Post stories published in 2003 (box 17).
