Scope and Contents
This series contains pamphlets, brochures, and a promotional envelope made by government organizations to promote tourism in New London and the greater Southeastern Connecticut area--many with a special focus on historic sites. Also included in the series are materials including pamphlets, newspaper clippings, and plans created by community members and organizations, as well as the minutes of a conference held by such organizations, mostly on the subject of historic preservation in New London and created primarily from 1962 to 1978. Additionally, the series contains an address given before the Board of Education earlier in the twentieth-century on the New London area’s history. The organizations represented in these materials include the Connecticut Development Commission, the Greater New London Chamber of Commerce, and New London Landmarks-Union Railroad Station Trust.
