Grant in support of a review of federal water resources policy (Rivers and Trails Project). The Foundation also provided support for the CLF’s “Connecticut Critical Lands Project”, a statewide legal services program to improve the management and conservation of Connecticut critical lands, and to provide legal assistance to individuals, organizations and agencies involved in land-use in Connecticut. Funding was also provided in support of the “Connecticut Aquifer Protection Project”. Major objectives of this project included, preparation of a legal memorandum on the ability of municipalities to implement groundwater protection, and development of model ordinances to prohibit land uses that present, high risk to groundwater quality. A grant was also made to the Connecticut segment of CLF’s Energy Research and Advocacy Project.
