About Phyllis A. Jones

Phyllis Jones entered Connecticut College (then Connecticut College for Women) in the fall of 1955, but health issues forced her to withdraw from the College in the spring of 1956 and return to her parents' home in Pennsylvania. After spending the summer with the Priscilla Beach Theatre in Plymouth, Massachusetts, she enrolled at the University of Delaware, where she was a member of the E 52 University Theatre group. Jones later studied at and performed with a number of local theater groups, including the Hedgerow Theatre outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She died in June 1962, the victim of a murder while on a beach outing to New Jersey.
