This series includes correpondence, outlines, proposals, notes, FOIA requests, comments from readers, drafts, typscripts, proofs of Witness for Nature. This documents the development of the writing of Witness for Nature and includes drafts with notes and annotations from editors. Also included is correspondence between Linda Lear and various colleagues and friends of Rachel Carson.

Scope and Contents From the Series: This series contains clippings, correspondences, articles, obituaries, articles, interviews, and drafts of manuscripts on colleagues of Rachel Carson. The bulk of the material are subject files kept by Linda Lear on the family, friends, colleagues, and critics of Rachel Carson. They document their lives and their relationship and association with Carson.
