Support of an organization, based in Buenos Aries, Argentina, operating under the auspices of the Forest Institute for Ocean and Mountain Studies. LANA activities included assistance in the formation of conservancy organizations, and promotion of conservation legislation.

Contributions were made toward the acquisition of an addition to the Pond Mountain Natural Area in Kent, CT.

Grants in support of a revised edition of the legal handbook entitled, “Private Approaches to the Preservation of Open Land”. published in 1967. The completed text entitled “Land Saving Action: a written symposium by 29 experts on private land conservation in the 1980s” was published in 1984.

Funding to support research required to update the book “In Defense of Earth”. The final manuscript entitled “International Environmental Policy: emergence and dimensions” ” was published by Duke Univ. Press in 1984.

Grants were made in support of the first national meeting of the Assembly and operating expenses.

Grants in support of: research on the Northern California Coast Range Preserve (1975); a study of the potential effects of development on the Tannersville Bog in Monroe County, Pennsylvania (1977); funding toward land acquisition at the Burnham Brook Preserve (1979), toward the building fund of the Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve field station in Costa Rica (1979), as a grant to the Ohio Chapter of the Nature Conservancy (1981).

Funding for weather monitoring equipment to support studies of solar energy, wind patterns and temperature variations. The intent of this study was the development of an integrated energy system, using renewable resources to power the School.
