Funding was provided to support the work of a naturalist keeping climatic records and recording natural history observations on this 5,000 acre preserve in New York State.

Mountain School is a coeducational, college-preparatory, boarding school located in Viceroy, VT dedicated to conservation education. Funding was provided in support of the preparation of a book on food production for schools and institutions, entitled The New Organic Grower, by Eliot Coleman.

Grants towards the acquisition of tropical forest to Braulio Carrillo National Park of Costa Rica. This area is known as “La Zona Protectora”.

In support of a population survey of grey seals at Muskeget and surrounding areas (Nantucket Sound). In 1990, support was provided for “photo cataloguing” of breeding grey seal females at Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge. The Nature Conservancy provided matching funds.

Grant in support of a program of network building and service to people working on land conservation at all levels.

For distribution of copies of The Cold and the Dark, the proceedings of a 1983 conference on the long-term, worldwide, biological consequence of nuclear war.

Grant in support of a study of the breeding biology of two species of booby on Isla Isabel, a Pacific Island off the coast of Mexico

Funding toward the publication of the Proceedings of the 1984 Atlantic White Cedar Wetland Symposium held in Woodshole, MA in 1984, and a book entitled Atlantic White Cedar and its Wetlands. In 1991, support was provided for a Coastal Forests and Forested Wetlands Conference, held in New Haven.
