Grant in support of the expansion of a conservation biology program in the Caribbean, designed to make people of the Caribbean Islands aware of their endangered national birds and the reasons why they are threatened (see also box 16)

Grant in support of a study by a Yale University School of Forestry and Environmental Sciences graduate student on the potential impacts of a proposed resort construction on a beach in the southwest coast of Puerto Rico.

Grant in support of research on sustainable land use systems in Borneo. A final report entitled “The Forest Garden Project (Proyek Kebun Hutan): An Ecological and Economic Study of a Locally Developed Agroforestry System in West Kalimantan, Indonesia” is included.

In support of an Artic National Wildlife Refuge information project, including a photographic record of proposed petroleum development sites and distribution of photo brochures.
