Grant in support of data analysis from a road inventory project in the San Francisco Peaks in northern Arizona. Information obtained through this project will be used to support recommendations to the U.S. Forest Service about road closures and roadside restoration. A subsequent grant was used to fund GIS analysis and publication of findings. Request for a grant in support of a community conservation volunteer program.

Request for support of an analysis of communities of Pteridophyta (ferns and related plants) in Cuba. Grant never activitated.

Funds in support of travel expenses for a Connecticut College botany student (Keith Bowman), for participation in a project with Dr. Lizzaralde, a CC professor of botany, to study the ethnobotany of the Bari in Venezuela.

Grant in support of land protection efforts in Ecuador. The goal of the Jocotoco Foundation is to protect land of critical importance to Ecuador’s avifauna.

Grant in support of a student at the University of Vermont for her Master’s project, “Natural community assessment and recommendations for ecological core areas on the Glebe Mountain Matrix Block”.

Grant in support of the publication of a series of books on the Sacred Lands the of Indian.

Support for an educational program entitled, Northern Woodlands goes to school (NWGTS). This program of Northern Woodlands magazine was designed to strengthen middle and high school student’s connection to the Northern Forest and concepts of environmental stewardship.
