Grant in support of a coalition of Native American environmental activists and anti-nuclear groups working in opposition to a radioactive waste facility proposed for a desert area in southern California. Ward Valley is considered sacred land, and also supports a threatened desert tortoise.

Donation in support of the annual appeal campaign of the Science Center

Grant in support of a natural resource survey of the MarshBillings Historic Park in Woodstock, by the Botany Department of the University of Vermont.

Grant in support of an investigation of ozone damage to black cherry trees in forest stands in Massachusetts. Researchers at the University of Massachusetts conducted this study.

Support of research on the impacts of white-tailed deer on Trillium in northern Wisconsin.

Funding in support of research on the role of the fruit bat (Eidolon helvum) in the seed dispersal and germination of the threatened hardwood (Milicia excelsa).

Grant in support of a survey and fact sheets project by the Vermont Population/ Environment Alliance. This group was formed to promote a better understanding of how population growth and resource consumption affect the environment and the quality of our lives.

Grant to aid in the preparation and publishing of a report on ”Extractive Reserves in Brazilian Amazon”.

Grant in support of a study of the impacts of ski area development on Vermont’s montane forest bird community. The CRF also provided support for the Institute’s “Investigation of Apparent Sexual Habitat Segregation of Bicknell’s Thrush in Winter”.
