Grant in support of the winter salary of the Director of the Wrangell Mountains Center. The Center is a private, nonprofit institute dedicated to environmental education, research, and arts in Alaska’s Wrangell-St Elias National Park and Preserve

Grant in support of a course on “Biodiversity Conservation Principles and Project Management”. This course was given on the Isle of Pines, Cuba.

Support of a research project entitled, “Relationship of Substrate Grain Size to Surface-Active Arthropod Communities on Alluvial Deposits”. The researcher is a Master’s candidate at the University of Vermont.

Grant in support of efforts to restore the lower Lamoille River in Burlington VT through changes in dam operation and possibly dam removal.

Funding in support of research on the role of the fruit bat (Eidolon helvum) in the seed dispersal and germination of the threatened hardwood (Milicia excelsa).

The CRF provided operating funds for this program that creates educational voyages onboard the sloop, Easy Wind. This organization strives to develop an understanding and interest in marine sciences and maritime history by placing students and teachers in contact with the natural world.

Grant in support of Rincon Rainforest land purchase in Guanacaste, Costa Rica.

Grant in support of a position as a Project Ecologist with the New Hampshire chapter of the Nature Conservancy. A small grant was also made in support of a project to study fire regimes in the Blue River Watershed, Oregon.

Grant in support of a study of the effect of habitat restoration on shrubland and grassland birds of Nantucket. The researcher is a Master’s student at the University of Massachusetts.

Grant in support of a Master’s thesis project to create a model for a non-governmental organizational approach to conservation in the Osa Conservation Region of Costa Rica.
