Jack begins with describing the San Bernedino Straits; the American colonisation and military presence on Corregidor Island, the Phillippines; and Manila, the Phillippines, particularly the harbor and medical and customs inspections. He writes a significant portion about American colonization of the Phillipines, incorporating racist comments about Filipinos. He also compares Hawaii and the Phillipines and notes support for American re-imperialization of Japan and the current colonization of Cuba. He ends with them disembarking and wanting to go golf.
