Jack writes about the different people that he met on his transatlantic voyage, (including Ira Nelson Morris [US Minister/Ambassador to Sweden, 1914-1923]), his stop in London (which featured a dinner with European colleagues and other people at the Ritz), his time in Cannes (such as visiting the opera and the Casino), and the similarities and difference between cultural practices and environment between Europe and the US. He also notes that "this is the first letter I have had a chance to make a copy of".
